Suzanna Danuta Walters, a professor of Sociology and director of Gender Studies at Northeastern University, wrote an op-ed for the Washington Post asking why women are not allowed to hate men. First, she criticizes feminist circles that oppose universally condemning all men, citing the following to justify her hatred toward all men: sexual violence towards women, the debunked gender wage gap, differences in property ownership between men and women, and unequal access to education. She claims that while these inequalities vary on a societal basis, women still fall behind men on all measures of social, political, and economic power worldwide.
Later, she asks why “in the land of legislatively legitimated toxic masculinity” is it socially unacceptable to hate all men? Walters criticizes the minimal level of male activism in the Women’s March and #MeToo campaigns; she later argues against due process in rape and sexual assault allegations.
She continues by providing a list of demands for American men, insisting that they…
- “Pledge to vote for feminist women only.”
- “Don’t run for office.”
- “Don’t be in charge of anything.”
- “Step away from the power.”
- “Know that [their] crocodile tears won’t be wiped away by us anymore.”
She concludes by saying, “We have every right to hate you. You have done us wrong. #BecausePatriarchy.”

“some of the tenets of color-blind racism are the refusal of the existence of White privilege, a lack of awareness of institutional racism and its implications, as will as the rejection of social policies (e.g., affirmative action).”
